Senior Housing/ Care Facilities & Related Legal Issues

Following is some general information giving an overview of some of the legal issues relating to senior housing and care facilities. This may involve selecting, contracting with and monitoring a care facility – such as a CCRC, Independent Living, Assisted Living, a Nursing Home, or others – or other housing for your senior loved one. For helpful information on these different types of care facilities, see About Senior Housing & Care Facilities. For help in finding a care facility, see our CareHelpFinder™section.

These matters involve both issues of U.S. federal law and state laws which vary state to state. Consult competent counsel practicing in these areas in the state where you are contracting with a care facility or other housing for your senior loved one.
