Parkinson Moving Day® – Miami will take place on October 7, 2012, starting at 8:30 a.m. in Bayfront Park, Miami. The nonprofit National Parkinson Foundation, the organizer, has announced that it is seeking Team Captains, and invites you to start a team for the event.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is serving as the Honorary Chair of the National Parkinson Foundation’s (NPF) 2012 Moving Day walks in Florida. Three Moving Day walks are scheduled in Florida: Miami, Oct. 7; Boca Raton, Oct. 21; and Tallahassee, Sept. 29.
According to information on the NPF’s website, “The National Parkinson Foundation’s Moving Day® is the National Parkinson Foundation South Florida Chapter’s annual fundraising walk event. It will be a day of joining together and raising awareness of Parkinson’s disease.”
“In addition to a fundraising walk, it will be a celebration of movement, with a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance and much more,” NPF says. “We anticipate more than 1,000 participants, which will include people with Parkinson’s, families, friends, healthcare professionals, corporate leaders and corporate teams, will join together to raise funds in support of the Foundation’s mission.”
“It will be a day to move, a day that will move you and a day to move others.”
