Ambassadors for Aging Day – March 15, 2011

The Florida Department of Elder Affairs announces “Ambassadors for Aging Day” to be held at the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

What is Ambassadors for Aging Day? 

Hosted by the Florida Sports Foundation and sponsored by the Department of Elder Affairs and other organizations, Ambassadors for Aging Day brings together elders and elder advocates from throughout the state to showcase the special contributions of older Floridians.

Complimentary event activities include: Medicare counseling with a SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) counselor,  Exhibit hall,  Health screenings,  Performing artists,  Music and dancing,  Noon program featuring state officials,  Walking tours of the Historic Capitol,  Luncheon,  and a chance to see the Florida Legislature in action.

Join in as we highlight the contributions of elders to their communities and share the experience of aging!
