Depression risk high for heart patients, San Francisco Chronicle.
More than 80 million people suffer from heart disease in the United States. It is the top cause of death in this country. A recent study found that people who have had a heart attack are three times more likely to suffer from depression than the general population, and women have a higher risk of depression after heart disease than men.
