Family squabbles and tensions arise from inadequate funding to pay family caregivers for their work. Currently, “The value of family caregivers’ “free” help is estimated at $257 billion per year, according to the National Family Caregivers Association, a … nonprofit advocacy group.”
Many of those advancing in years are now purchasing long-term care insurance to provide for their own future care in order to avoid future dependence on family members the corresponding family tensions.
