States Back Rule to Use 80% of Health Premiums for Care

WASHINGTON — State insurance commissioners on Thursday, October 21, unanimously endorsed the tough new standards in the federal Health Reform Law, which would require health insurance companies to spend at least 80% of each premium dollar on health care for the benefit of consumers, as opposed to administrative costs and profits for the insurance company.
