Take this Quiz — a new assessment tool to estimate your 10-year risk of having a heart attack, posted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on its Health Information website. Called the ” Risk Assessment Tool for Estimating Your 10-year Risk of Having a Heart Attack,” it is a tool devised as part of the NIH’s “National Cholesterol Education Program” to help you calculate your risk.
Enter your age, gender, Total Cholesterol and HDL Cholesterol numbers, whether you are a smoker, your blood pressure, and whether you are currently on any medications for high blood pressure, and the tool will calculate your 10-year risk of having a heart attack. It also provides explanations of the factors referenced.
