Infections of the urinary tract are much more common in women than men. The biggest risk factors are urinary catheters and conditions that allow harmful organisms from the gut to come in contact with the urinary openings (eg, fecal incontinence).” Recommends drinking at least 10 ounces of cranberry juice each day to help prevent recurrence of urinary tract infections.
